Owned by Robert and Anita Hamilton and rooted at 125 West 2nd Avenue, L’îlette Café & Bakery is where French baking tradition meets genuine café hospitality. BUILT ON TIME HONOuRED TECHNIQUE

A French Boulangerie Tradition, Reimagined for Qualicum Beach

Since July 2025, Robert and Anita Hamilton have carried L’îlette Café & Bakery's legacy forward — honouring its roots as a French-inspired boulangerie while expanding into a full café experience rooted in Qualicum Beach's coastal rhythm. Every handmade croissant, sourdough loaf, and cup of coffee reflects time-honoured technique and organic, freshly milled ingredients. L'îlette is recognized for inclusive hiring and a commitment to regional sourcing — and during the Advent season, a beloved local tradition comes alive with a unique specialty pastry crafted for each day of December.

CAFÉ FAQS

Questions About Our Baking, Menu, or Café Experience?

  • Where is L'îlette Café & Bakery located and when are you open?

You'll find us at 125 West 2nd Avenue in Qualicum Beach, BC. We're open Wednesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Whether you're a local making us part of your weekly routine or a visitor passing through the area, you're always welcome.

  • Can I order online or make a reservation?

Yes — we're set up for both. Online ordering is available directly through our website, powered by our Touch Bistro system, which is especially handy for pre-ordering our specialty sourdough breads before they sell out. Reservations can also be arranged by calling the café directly.

  • What makes L'îlette different from other cafés on Vancouver Island?

A few things set us apart. We're the number one ranked bakery in the Parksville Qualicum area, and everything on our menu is made from scratch using freshly milled, organic grains and time-honoured French techniques. You won't find a Starbucks or a chain café in Qualicum Beach — and we're proud to be part of what makes this town genuinely one of a kind.

  • Do you serve both food and drinks, or is it primarily a bakery?

We're a full café and bakery. Alongside our handcrafted sourdough, croissants, and French pastries, we serve a breakfast and lunch menu made from scratch each day, plus an artisan beverage program featuring locally sourced coffee, specialty teas, and small-batch kombucha. There's something here for every part of your day.

  • Do you do anything special during the holiday season?

Advent is one of our most beloved traditions at L'îlette — and honestly, our biggest month of the year. Each day of the Advent season features a different specialty pastry, a tradition that's deeply woven into the fabric of this community. If you're in Qualicum Beach during December, it's not to be missed.
